The skills badge scheme is a progressive seven level scheme that is both challenging and rewarding to children of all ages and ability.
The scheme assesses children on moves to beat players, turns, juggling, dribbling, passing and a range of additional skills and tricks.
Certificates and badges are rewarded throughout the scheme and the first step and kick start levels are achievable by all children.
The scheme gives children targets to work towards individually and encourages them to practice in their own time which helps support an active and healthy lifestyle.

I will be forever grateful to Juninho and his father for the tremendous help that they gave to me when I first discovered the game Futebol de Salão. Juninho explained to me about the history of Futebol de Salão and how players like Pele, Rivelino, Zico, Ronaldo and Rivaldo had been brought up playing first Futebol de Salão before later switching to conventional football. I was immediately taken by the game as I could see the benefits that it can bring to a player's game. I have never seen anything like it in terms of the rate of progression of young player's and I think it will play a pivotal role in the future success of our national and club sides.
I believe that the game and our training programme are the best start that a child can make in sport and that this scheme offers the very best practice in terms of coaching. I hope that the LEGO Futebol de Salão Skills Badge is fully embraced by schools everywhere as in time I am confident that it will lead to the development of players who can play the game in a way that previously people would have only associated with the Brazilians. From the very start my aim was to combine the best of Brazil with our own strengths and I believe we are now doing this. I look forward to the day when players who have successfully achieved level 5 are playing in our national teams at the very highest levels of the game.
As a former school teacher myself I know the tremendous job that teachers do in helping children to maximise their potential. I hope that this scheme can assist teachers to teach new skills to their pupils in a fun and inclusive manner and that teachers themselves will also benefit from being involved in the scheme.
